littlestream SG hee hee........we both thought the same and doing the same thing! oh, evening shift ah? had your dinner or taking dinner to work? it's quiet in the evening shift isn't it? is that your preferred shift or do you like mornings? thanks for asking, i am well, a little busy. so much going on at home. summer projects by hubby. he painted the dining and kitchen area. nice pale yellow. so you can imagine, here's me tagging along those home depot and home hardware stores. alamak......got to look interested. hats off to jetta. she loves stuff like that. me? i am more a cooking or grocery shopper type. have been watching the american iron chef nightly. not that i pick up any tips but just enjoyed watching those chefs go at it. the other one i enjoy is the sugar pieces contests. oh, and then there is this ramsey guy. he's really nasty. he's got couple of programs. hell's kitchen and ramsey something. and oh yes, i am also glue to canadian idol, america's got talent and so you tink you can dance. wah lau eh.....story of my life is teebee related ley.
littlestream SG *cash register going k-chng k-chng* wah seh........you gonna be rich man!!!! i am waiting for my building to go en-bloc too!
fudgester SG I'm planning to go out and buy a new digicam later. Thinking of getting the Casio Exilim EX-z75.... pretty good model costing $399. I think I'll visit John 3:16 at Funan later.
av98m SG Actually. no. The price they offering is not enough to cover buying a similar home plus costs of moving plus hardship. Its my fucking HOME they are trying to tear down, not some stinking piece of investment!!!
Rhonda SG Oh dear! If it's not a good offer, why did the residents agree to it? Usually people make bucketloads in en bloc sales! So... when does your family have to start moving out? With property prices in Singapore the way they are now, it's not going to be cheap, for sure!
av98m SG the residents are FUCKING MORONS that is why. we're like 10% away from the 80% needed now. handover I think its about 2 years these days. if I move I'll have to sell or give away at least half of my books and cds and toys liao I can't even move to my own place because I just signed a new rental/lease for 2 years.
littlestream SG hee hee...........pai seh ley, av keyword here is NOVEL!!!! me no time to read. even if have hor, i usually read recipe books. but thanks for the recommendation tho' . i gather it's got something to do with frying up my brains izzit?
Rhonda SG Surprisingly, I don't get to watch too many cooking and food-related shows. My shift work has a lot to do with it. I tried to get cable here so that I can watch Animal Planet and Discovery Channel but the building I'm living in will need to have a satellite installed first. *grumbles!! Forget about asking my landlord because he's the world's worst procrastinator! I try not to have any dealings with him because each time I do, my blood pressure rises alarmingly high and I don't wanna stroke out in front of him over TV! My dream is still to one day get my own place here in Melbourne so that I can finally ship my barang-barang over, which includes the 500+ cookbook collection that I miss so very very much! However, with the way things are, you don't get to cook much if you're just cooking for one so I do need to find myself a man who loves to eat and who won't hiam my cooking! I dream of the day when I can grocery shop to my heart's content! Right now, the stuff in my fridge like lasts forever! I still haven't cooked anything much besides instant ramen and grilled garlic bread. I'm still not feeling well. It's been a long time. Brought back some darn virus from Singapore that makes me giddy and nauseous and recently, reflux! Getting things in order first before cooking again. Surprisingly, it was aromatherapy that helped kept the early morning nausea and giddiness at bay!
Rhonda SG Oh dear! It's awful when you have to give away your stuff! Till today, I'm quite traumatised by my major house move across continents! Sometimes, I still think of the stuff I discarded or hurriedly gave away without a thought! New and what-not some more! Chek Ak!! Really Chek Ak!! Dont' know about you, av, but I DO develop an attachment to things.
av98m SG So do I. Its not so much about the cost but the fact that they cannot be replaced!!!!(out of print etc) Any my memories are tied up with some of my possessions. I'm sure you understand what I mean
littlestream SG oh dear..............rhonda...........you have been unwell since you returned? do take care yah. *hugz hugz* hee hee....hanor.....no need to get blood pressure up for teebee. besides, you will want to explore some more isn't it. but winter is a good time to stay indoors and have movie nights. well, that's what we do anyways. oh, rhonda........i am sure you will. and i bet you will have a fun time decorating up your home.
littlestream SG KOPIOOOOOOO!!!! eh, long time no see ley, how's your alamak...forgot the term for your thai lady friend liao. izzit punya? anyways, how are you? going to bkk again? well, what else is new, right? have fun ah............
